Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. Winston Churchill
Your True Home
One of the true spiritual leaders of our time – Thich Nhat Hanh – tells us:
Your true home is in the here and the now. It is not limited by time, space, nationality, or race. Your true home is not an abstract idea; it is something you can touch and live in every moment. With mindfulness and concentration…you can find your true home in the full relaxation of your mind and body in the present moment.
I love this thought by Wendell Berry: There is an always-significant difference between knowing and believing. We may know that the earth turns, but we believe, as we say, that the sun rises.
Pema Chodron’s wisdom:
“We always have the opportunity to let our sight connect us with the preciousness of this sacred world.”
…totally hidden and yet perfectly revealed…
Over-explanation separates us from astonishment. Eugene Ionesco
The world exists in a dynamism, a state of perpetual change and unfolding. Cynthia Bourgeault
Black Elk, Sioux Mystical Teacher…
…We need to see in a sacred manner. It’s not that the world is secular and godless; it’s that we don’t look at it in a spiritual way.
Keeping Watch
In the morning
When I began to wake,
It happened again –
That feeling
That you, Beloved,
Had stood over me all night
Keeping watch,
That feeling
That as soon as I began to stir
You put Your lips on my forehead
And lit a Holy Lamp
Inside my heart.
Hafiz translated by Daniel Ladinsky
